The School of Engineering & Materials Science is home to the Centre for Intelligent Transport (CIT), which combines strengths in Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, Power Systems, Robotics and AI, Digital Design and Manufacturing, and Advanced Materials to drive future transport and mobility technologies that better our world. Research focuses on various scientific and engineering problems relevant to future transport systems and spans from Green Propulsion, Robotics, and Autonomous vehicles to Future Mobility with Environmental and Climate technologies, such as those which help reduce aircraft noise and emissions. Staff within the Centre for Intelligent Transport are active in delivering research-informed education for our students in these broad areas. The Centre collaborates extensively with leading research groups across the world and around the UK, contributing to high-impact communities such as the Vertical Lift Network and the UK Hypersonics Capability Development Framework. In REF2021, SEMS was ranked 7th overall and 2nd for the quality of our research outputs.
We are looking for world-leading researchers in aerospace engineering to complement and expand our aerospace engineering research and teaching. We are particularly interested in staff whose research aligns with aerospace structures and design.

Teaching Fellow in Language for Science and Engineering (Transnational Education)

he School of Engineering and Materials Science (SEMS), which is home to the Centre for Research in Engineering and Materials Education (CREME). CREME was established to develop activities in Scholarship of Teaching and Learning to support the School in contributing to the Queen Mary’s Strategy 2030. We are looking for applicants with experience in delivering core materials science and engineering education in transnational education and with the capability to contribute to technical modules in one or more of our engineering disciplines to join our education team at the NPU campuses in China. Individuals should have strong pedagogical expertise in the design and delivery of education to a diverse student population at undergraduate level and are also particularly interested in individuals with experience or interest in educational leadership. The post has a substantial involvement in educational delivery with 20% allocated time for scholarship, in which an emphasis on engineering skills pedagogy is expected.
